The TPG SystemHealthCheck helps Microsoft Project Server customers protect their system from a loss of performance or even – in the worst case – a system failure. These incidents can incur significant costs to a business while affecting user acceptance. Using LiveMeeting, the administrator enables a TPG specialist to access and evaluate the Microsoft EPM system and its associated SharePoint environment. The expert conducts a number of tests, including analyzing error logs; checking installed updates; reviewing settings for the overall system and for the backup and archiving solution; and running performance tests. The customer’s system can continue to operate during the TPG SystemHealthCheck with no disruption or impact on productivity. The two-page test result contains an overview of the findings and concrete recommendations for action. The administrator can then decide what to do about any deficiencies found.
“In the past, we used to set up a system analysis via LiveMeeting with new customers who contacted us about issues with their Microsoft Project Server installations. In most cases we were able to detect the source of the problem rapidly,” says Martin Hespe, Senior Consultant at TPG The Project Group. The experience prompted the company to turn this capability into a product – the TPG SystemHealthCheck – to help customers to prevent issues before they impact performance. The TPG SystemHealthCheck provides Microsoft Project Server customers with added value and long-term stability for their project management infrastructure.
